Yellow seems to be the ‘It’ factor this season, amongst other fashion fads. But it’s something about mustard yellow that is catching everyone’s eye. Along with clothing, you may see this statement color in shoes, accessories and even hair extensions!
This color has such a retro-esque feel, which reminds me of the late 1960s and 70s fashion styles, when other earth-toned colors (like tan, brown, green, and orange) ruled everyday wear. I find that the color can be very bold but also has a warm undertone. I have always avoided wearing yellow because, to me, the color can be so bright! lol But with confidence, anyone can wear this fabulous color and light up the room.

I took a leap in trying this color with a classic V-neck plaid dress. Plaid is also very popular this season, so it fits right in with the current trends. Because the color and pattern together create a bold statement, I decided to keep my accessories simple, but bring a little bit more edge to the outfit with tall, black platform shoes.
