Are we doing more harm than good when we tell our youth that it’s okay to “have a little fun?” It is often seen that because young people are living in their prime years, that they have enough time to fool around and correct their mistakes later on. When I say “fool around,” I am specifically talking about sin and doing the usually things that our society encourages young people to do, such as dating multiple people or having causal sex, drinking, experimenting with drugs and going to wild parties.

Even though the world seems to give grace to the youth when they fall into such things, what is not being said is that these fun times may often not end with a successful comeback story. With this video, the LORD is warning us that this perception of being young and “having time” to sin and then later redeem oneself is truly a false sense of security. In all, our job as adults is to train our youth to walk the path of righteousness, not to misguide them with empty ideas of fun that lead to self-destruction.
6 Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.
